Job Description
Ministry Good Samaritan Hospital, Merrill Wisconsin is looking for a Full Time Registered Nurse for our Emergency Department.  A member of Ministry Health Care System, Ministry Good Samaritan Health Care Center is a primary care hospital which has been serving the health care needs of Lincoln County since 1923.  It is a primary care hospital providing inpatient care and surgery, outpatient surgery, oncology services, spiritual services, extended care, a full range of therapy, radiology and laboratory services as well as dialysis, emergency and walk-in clinic services. We pride ourselves in putting Patients first in everything we do.
 
This Registered Nurses will work 12 hour shifts.
 
The Registered Nurse will:
  • Demonstrate and assume responsibility for safety as it relates to patient care personnel supervised.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of infection control and universal precautions; actively support and promote strict adherence to the policies.
  • Assess the psychosocial and spiritual needs of each patient within the context of their hospitalization and intervenes as appropriate. 
  • In coordination with physician, ancillary personnel and agencies coordinate discharge planning from admission through departure with involvement of patient and support persons. Assures, within reason, the discharge plan meets the patients current needs.
  • Respond to all emergency situations, assess patients appropriately, intervene competently and provide thorough and accurate documentation. 
  • Demonstrate competency, efficiency and effectiveness in caring for the patients physiological needs.
  • Administer drugs and promote medication and IV therapy as prescribed for patient care in keeping with professional and legal guidelines, restrictions and limitations defined in policy.
  • Accurately interpret processes and incorporate physician's orders in the patient's plan of care accurately.
  • Maintain competency and proficiency through the process of formal and informal learning opportunities. 
This is a full time position which will be scheduled for variable 12 hour shifts with a weekend rotation.


Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing is required
  • WI RN License is required.
  • Registered Nurse experience in an acute care setting, especially in an Emergency Room is highly desired
  • Valid and active certifications in:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
    • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) highly preferred.
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) highly preferred.
    • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) or Neonatal Advanced Life Support (NALS) highly preferred
    • STABLE highly preferred
