“Hunt for a Cure” Pediatric Pulmonary Physician Scientist

The Division of Pediatric Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine seeks a sixth board certified, full-time Pulmonologist to join their group as the “Hunt for a Cure” pediatric pulmonary research scientist. 

• 50-75% time devoted to research and 25-50% clinical time.
• Provide collaboration, teamwork and leadership for the Michigan State University (MSU) – Spectrum Health Cystic Fibrosis Translational Research Program (CFTRP). The CFTRP already exists with a basic science team of PhD researchers and staff that have been successful in securing significant extramural grant funding. The expectation of the physician scientist is that the he or she will come with a strong foundation of research that will continue to grow and generate extramural funding to foster program growth and continued research.
• The MSU-Grand Rapids Research Center is a brand new, state of the art basic science laboratory building located adjacent to the clinical care campus in downtown Grand Rapids. With the success of this first building, a second research facility has broken ground and slated for completion in 2022.
• A Pediatric Pulmonary Fellowship program has been approved for Fall 2020.
